In this week we need to evaluate on the Smithsonian Institute’s Website. This website allows us to explore and learn on the online resources that are provided by the Smithsonian Institute. The subjects based are art and design, history and culture, science and technology. The intended audiences are kids, adults, members, Volunteers, Interns and Jobs. It is a quite good website.

Purpose, Coverage, Authority, Currency, Accessibility, Presentation and Arrangement, Usability, Overall.
This is quite useful for me to identify a website is good or not.

1. Are Blogs similar to Wikis? Explain why.

No. Because Wiki is a kind of website that allows anyone visiting the site to add, remove, or edit all content, very quickly and easily, sometimes without the need for registration. "open-editing" system where the emphasis is on the authoring and collaboration of documents. Blog is often focus on particular subjects eg politics, travel, food, local news. 2. How is an Advocacy website different from an Information website?

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.

Do you find any strength/weakness of each of them, in terms of search capability?

Search Engine has a huge number of results. But other facilities do not have so many results, they are more concentrated on the subject.

Overall, which search facility best meet your searching needs? Why?
